Full Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our small and friendly well-established QC team. Experience is not essential – but an enthusiasm for the role is a must!

The role involves undertaking consistent and repeatable testing of raw materials and manufactured products to ensure that the products we manufacture on site for our customers uphold our reputation for high quality. Testing takes place in accordance with internal laboratory test methods and the results are recorded on paper and computerised systems. In addition, you will need to maintain laboratory records, equipment and the laboratory facility in a clean, tidy and organised condition, including general housekeeping.

It is important that the team provide a timely service to support production activities, and therefore the post-holder is required to work both day (6am to 2pm) and afternoon (2pm to 10pm) shifts on a weekly rotation. Overtime, and occasional Friday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays are also required on reasonably regular occasions.

Candidate Profile

  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working in a QC/laboratory/technical environment would be an advantage, but is not essential
  • A basic knowledge and understanding of Quality Control practices
  • Dependable, organised and methodical approach to work
  • Basic computer literacy skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Logical, calm and confident manner
  • A flexible approach to work times in order to cover variable production schedules including overtime.

Due to exceptional demand, we have vacancies within our manufacturing team for Production Operatives – various roles and shifts are available. The roles involve operating one or more filling machines (either manual or robotic), producing a set amount of products within a set time period.

We offer a variety of regular shift patterns:

  • Days – 6 am to 1.24 pm Monday to Friday
  • Afternoons – 2 pm to midnight Monday to Thursday
  • Night shifts – 10 pm to 6 am Sunday to Thursday.

Overtime is regularly available, both during the week and at weekends.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment, to meet quantity and quality standards
  • An aptitude for factory machinery and a willingness to learn
  • Good time-keeping and attendance record
  • Positive attitude, a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • An awareness of health & safety.
